A Large Piece of Turf
Mat Collishaw commissioned us to animate Albrecht Durer’s watercolor study “A Large Piece of Turf” from 1503. The study featured various plants, including dandelions, meadow grass, and brokenfoot. Our goal was to create a living interpretation of Dürer’s original art, which we called “Whispering Weeds”. To achieve this, we utilized retouching, 3D modeling and texturing, and rendering with Maya, focusing on mimicking the natural movement of plant stems underwater.
